Rez Day and All that Jazz

Yesterday was my fourth rez day and I seriously don't think I logged on at all lol.  I wasn't feeling great but the passion for SL has kinda been sucked right out of me as of late.  No big reason as to why because I think I'm just in a funk overall.  Short of a few interesting shopping outings with the mom type person and a renewed sense of I must take care of myself there isn't a whole lot that is sparking a long term interest in me.  I'm sure it will past, it always does, as new avenues open up and I look at new experiences for myself.  Doing more vintage shopping with my actual dollars and not just my lindens lol.  I'm still enjoying teaching a lot but I gotta get back to firing on all cylinders.  I've had a photo project in my head for months and haven't pulled the trigger on that either.  I should stopping coming up with ideas and get back to it.  Anyhoo, I'm four whole years old now lol at least in SL and I look GOOD for my age ROFLMAO.  See ya later

It's all over now, whew

Okay so I've been MIA a lot between classes, RL and Miss Ebony International.  As of yesterday, two of those things have been taken care of a bit lol and this weekend will see another great crop of graduates leave MIOS before we take a break for a few weeks.  Yesterday, the Miss Ebony International finals were held and four hours or so after it all started it was over.  Congratulations are due to all the girls because it was a long grueling experience from start to finish in that the challenges were more time intensive than I could have ever thought and waiting patiently through 3 hours of questioning was slightly traumatic.  However, I made it all the way through my first contest that was at least partially based on my own skill set and appearance.  I mean I did Miss Fashion last year but that was mostly based on the ability of my designer and my styling of those designs.  I came in third then, I did not do as well with MEI.  Crashing as I'm answering a question probably didn't help and I'm not sure that I totally answered my next question from Frolic Mills but I did make the top ten and was happy and slightly stunned by that.  My designer in this contest, the always great Kimmera Madison, was happy with how I presented her work so I can't really ask for more than that.  I'll take photos and plaster the blog with them in a few days and then both dresses will be up for sale at her shop.  Thanks to all that came to support me yesterday--I seriously appreciate you all waiting it out with me.  I get the grind of what a major contest is like now and while I am SOOOO not ready for another right now I might sign up again for one in the future.  I'm glad I had this experience and will continue to try to push myself every chance I get but for now, I'm enjoying the nap I have had for the last 24 hours.

Yeah brain still tired

Brain is still tired a bit and I woke up this morning God awful dizzy with no real explanation for it.  So the middle of my day was full of nap.  Nap is goooooood.  Last night I did the shoot that had been a little delayed and I swear I love meeting new photographers because they all work a little differently and are interesting in their own rights.  This morning was another casting with JSE which I thought I did okay in but wasn't asked to stay out very long after the last pose so figured it wasn't in the cards for this show or the other one I put in for---as I hadn't gotten that one.  But after I woke up from my luscious nappy nap I was feeling better and will just be positive about the outcome because you never know what may happen.  I might make a tiny addendum to this one tomorrow when the results are posted.  Haven't done much shopping lately except random 50L or 69L shopping days.  Laqroki has put out some gorgeous new skins but the darkest tones were in the new tone--Mocha which is quite pretty but several shades lighter than your everyday Rouge.  The makeup on the newest one is AMAZING so if you aren't a normal LAQ shopper go check it out.  Ok back to watching my lasagna and whatever movie I can get into.

brain too tired for a title

Hey everyone.  Not a whole lot going on for the last few days.  The holiday and weekend threw off a lot of the plans that I had and I'm playing catch up after freezing in my office all day because they turned the heat off so they could make some repairs.  They do it at least once a year and almost always find the one day of the year where it's least desirable to not have at least a puff of heat coming in.  I have a few castings coming up that hopefully I'll get but you know me, I work in ebbs and flows lol.  I still need to pull together the graduation show for MPI but missing some info so that might get pushed back a week.  And missing it because I really wasn't on SL all that much this weekend.  And last week I found out that my retro song choice didn't win the cover but I was among the top 5 so I'm good with that too.  The picture is on my flikr page but I'll include it here too in a bit.  Other than that I'm a little sleepy for some reason.  I should probably go to bed early but knowing me I won't lol.  I'll check in soon.

My Whirlwind Fashion Weekend is Over

Okay so the last show I'm in for the weekend is now in the books. All went well as far as the ones I was in. A bit of lag for Eden Freese but nothing out of the ordinary. I managed to get to the dress rehearsal for Tres Beau after finishing the script for the Bitch Tail Graduation show with MPI all before noon. The grad show as lag personified but big round of applause to the girls for keeping their heads and managing to finish the show. Sim was full a few times and the designer was happy so yeah for that. The Wicked show was oodles of fun and I was shocked honestly by some of the people that ended up there. It was minimal lag and everyone worked well together. A photo shoot is coming out of that too so yippee. Not to mention Alisa was very generous to us and gave us a great gift card to her store for our participation. Not sure what I am going to buy because she gave me a ton of cute outfits to prep for the show with but I'll do what I can hee hee. Also got to do a bit of shopping at Ora Trei and got some great outfits and jewelry before it went bye bye. I got some stuff from them for the Maniera shoot a while back but hadn't been back in a while and was surprised at some of the stuff I found.

The Fall Into Romance Tres Beau show went well too. Little bobbles here and there but nothing major and nothing that made me think of please just let me get through the next hour. Everyone worked well together and while it was definitely one of the most intricate walks I've seen lately that wasn't off putting either. JSE as a crew rocked this afternoon and made Valentine's day just as lovely for everyone that was there. I am debating logging back on to see take some pictures for the Finesmith contest but right now just not feeling it lol. If anything I'll work on the ones for Angel Dessous. Ahh well I'll let ya know when or if I figure it out lol.

See ya

now introducing......

Okay so most of you coming here know me already so there's no need to introduce me but I'm tossing in some photos for ya of the runway shows I did the last weekend in August. Remember how I said I didn't understand how people booked multiple shows in a weekend without crashing and burning? Yeah well i still don't lol I was exhausted by Sunday night and granted the Miramar show was a total fluke in me booking it but that's what that whole networking thing played in. I've mentioned the Model's Workshop in the past. It's a great resource and I think I'll be helping out with it more now but the leader, Monica Balut-creator of the wonderful Balut huds, contacted me about filling a spot that had been vacated all of a sudden with a show three days away. I met with the agency owner and he liked me so boom I got a show on Saturday--except I guess I wasn't paying proper attention it was one routine for two shows a few hours apart. It was great honestly as I like being a part of different kinds of shows and this one was entirely in Spanish. The second show was much more crowded and thus more laggy but all was good. And I even managed to drag my partner to a show so he could see me be all adorable and cute or excuse me serious and sexy and selling my outfits.

The next day it was time for the much anticipated JSE Grand Opening show which was hit with an unusually off SL day in that nearly everything that could go wrong did and the lag got so bad the sim finally said no mas and sent us all back to RL for a bit. We made it back and had the finale and attracted new models to the crew and thoroughly impressed those who hung with us. I don't think I've been in a show that laggy ever so it was most definitely an experience. It was great and I think we did a fantastic job. So here are my outfits for that show. If you want details just visit my flikr page and you'll get all the info about them.

The shows were great and paid which was a double shock but it was also a good example of making sure that we are able to form good relationships with other models so that every now and then we can luck into another job or agency or whatever because making a name for ourselves doesn't just come from our ability to fill out an outfit or take a pretty picture. Thanks again to Monica and to Miguel who let someone he barely knew wear a bunch of pretty outfits for a big show.

Classes are going well at Maniera and I'm looking forward to our graduation show. We're focusing on things that I'm thoroughly enjoying and I think will give me more of an edge when I'm done if it comes from nothing more than confidence. We are each having a makeover refinement session with the CEO which is great because we make our avs to suit our needs but there are minor things that people observing us will see that we don't notice. Had mine and it was fantastic. I can highly recommend the courses there for anyone interested. Okay time for bed.
